Support

Help with Stillfold, from a real person. Most answers are below; for anything else, email support@stillfold.app.

Get Help

Stillfold is made by one person, Sarthak Patel, and every email is read by him. There’s no form to fill in: just write.

support@stillfold.app Questions, problems, and help with your account.

What to include

  • Your phone model and its software version.
  • Stillfold’s version, shown under You, About.
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screenshot of the message helps.

Never send us your recovery code or pictures of your documents. We don’t need them to help, and we will never ask for them.

I Lost My Phone

  1. On another phone, install Stillfold and sign in with the same Apple, Google or email account.
  2. Bring your key over: from iCloud Keychain if it offers to, or by entering your recovery code.
  3. Open You, Devices, and remove the lost phone so it’s signed out.

Stillfold’s storage on the lost phone is encrypted, and app lock asks for Face ID or the passcode before it opens. If you’ve lost every phone and your recovery code too, we can’t recover your documents; family members who share a shelf with you still have it and can invite you back.

I Got a New Phone

  1. Install Stillfold on the new phone and sign in.
  2. Bring your key over in whichever way is easiest: let iCloud Keychain fill it in, approve the new phone from your old one, or enter your recovery code.
  3. Your shelves download and appear. Give it a moment on the first sync, especially with many scanned pages.

My Invite Didn’t Arrive

  • Check your spam or junk folder, and on Gmail the Promotions and Updates tabs. Invites come from Stillfold and say who invited you.
  • Make sure the person invited the email address you actually use.
  • Invites last 14 days. If yours has expired, ask a Manager of the shelf to resend it.
  • A Manager can also copy the invite link from the app and send it to you another way, such as a message.

The Invite Says It’s for a Different Email

An invite only works for the email address it was sent to. That keeps a forwarded link from letting someone else in. Either sign in to Stillfold with that email address, or ask a Manager of the shelf to invite the address you use.

I Joined, but I Don’t See the Shelf

The shelf’s key has to reach your phone from the phone of someone already on the shelf. That happens the next time one of their phones opens Stillfold while online.

  • Ask the person who invited you (or any Manager) to open Stillfold for a few seconds.
  • Keep Stillfold open on your phone, or open it again a minute later.
  • Stillfold reminds them by email if it’s been a day.

Auto-fill Missed Something

Check the fields marked for a second look first, then tap any field to fix it. Clear, flat, well-lit photos read best: put the card on a dark surface and avoid glare. You can turn Auto-fill on or off under You, Auto-fill details.

Delete Your Account

  1. Open Stillfold and go to the You tab.
  2. Tap Delete account, near the bottom.
  3. Stillfold lists which shelves will be deleted (the ones only you are on) and which shared shelves you’ll leave.
  4. Sign in once more to confirm it’s you, then tap Delete account.

Your account and backup are deleted right away, your share links stop working, and this phone’s copy is erased. Shared shelves stay with their other members. This can’t be undone.

If you no longer have the app, email privacy@stillfold.app from the address on your account and we’ll delete it for you.
